FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Washington, DC (July 15, 2021) — American Enterprise Institute (AEI) President Robert Doar and Yuval Levin, who directs Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies at AEI, announced today that former Acting Attorney General of the United States Jeffrey A. Rosen has joined AEI as a nonresident fellow.

Said Robert Doar, “We are delighted and honored that Jeff is now part of AEI. His breadth of experience and knowledge will add much to AEI’s work on constitutionalism.”

Added Yuval Levin, “Jeff Rosen has been both a distinguished public servant and an influential policy scholar, and we know his work in the coming years will continue to build the case for restoring our constitutional order and restraining the administrative state. We are honored to have him on the team.”

At AEI, Mr. Rosen focuses on administrative law and regulation, constitutionalism, and legal institutions, and his work is part of a new AEI initiative, the Center for American Constitutional Governance, which has been created to restore the integrity and order of the American constitutional system, with an emphasis on the proper roles of Congress, the executive, and the courts; a renewal of federalism; and a rekindled understanding of citizenship, civil society, and republican virtue.

Mr. Rosen previously served as the 38th deputy attorney general of the United States, the 21st deputy secretary of transportation, and general counsel and senior policy adviser at the White House’s Office of Management and Budget. He worked in the private sector at Kirkland & Ellis LLP for nearly three decades until 2017, and he recently joined the board of directors of Good Works II Acquisition Corp in July 2021.

Said Mr. Rosen, “I am very excited to join AEI. I’ve admired the work of its scholars for years, including work to advance representative democracy, national security, free enterprise, and the human potential of individuals. Our American institutions and system of governance are essential to all of these. At AEI, I hope to draw on my experiences in both government and the private sector to help advance an understanding of the challenges we face and contribute to improvements and solutions.”
