Introducing AEI Visiting Fellows, Kirsten Axelsen and Jim Harper

The following announcement was issued today by AEI Director of Economic Policy Studies Michael Strain:

I am delighted to announce we have two new Visiting Fellows joining us in the Economics department.

Kirsten Axelsen, Visiting Fellow
Before joining AEI, Kirsten Axelsen worked for Pfizer for almost 20 years. Her work there included the oversight of business-development evaluations in the fields of rare disease, oncology, inflammation, immunology, and primary care. Earlier, through her US work, Ms. Axelsen dealt with the Affordable Care Act and Medicare Part D. Internationally, she worked on health technology assessment programs in the EU and quality-consistency evaluation of pharmaceutical drugs in China.

Jim Harper, Visiting Fellow
Jim Harper focuses on privacy issues and select legal and constitutional law issues. He served as counsel for several U.S. House and Senate Committees and was a founding member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee. More recently, he was the executive vice president of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and a senior fellow at the Cato Institute.
